This book is an essential read for all new runners. It is not just about how to treat running injuries, but more importantly how to avoid them. Once you have read this book not only will you understand how most injuries are caused, but you will also understand the psychological aspects of being injured. The text is very easy to read and you aren't confused by unnecessary medical jargon.
The only bad thing I would say about this book is that the page layout and print quality of the pictures leave a lot to be desired. For some reason the sub-section headings are at the edge of the page which makes for uncomfortable reading when they are on the right hand page. The main text is too close to the central binding and you have to keep pulling the book apart to be able to read it comfortably. The pictures look only marginally better than if you'd run off your own copy on a photocopier. I hope the publishers get a better designer to layout the next edition. (Why have they put a sprinter on the front cover when all the athletes interviewed in the book are distance runners?)
