This week is the Keep Britain Tidy annual Spring Clean.

It’s interesting when pulling cans out of a ditch or hedge to see which is the oldest. These both have the KBT logo.

The Super Strength Lager is dated 1993 on the base.

The Schweppes “Lemonade Shandy with real beer” looks to be older (mid ’80’s ?) but I can’t read any date. It has the following engraved into the top:

AVOID LITTER
DISPOSE OF PROPERLY

They can both go back in the recycling stream now, so could be back on the shelves in a few months time. I guess the sad thing is that it takes over 30 years before some litter gets picked up.
